When people think of Miller's Creamery, ice cream treats generally come to mind. Its homemade sherbets and ice cream cakes are famous throughout Holmes and Tuscarawas counties.

The first creamery was opened in New Philadelphia by Norm and Gladys Miller in 2004. The Millers have since opened a second store in New Philadelphia and a shop in downtown Dover.

They began franchising in 2019, which led to the opening of a store in Millersburg by Tom and Marilyn Wengerd.William Gerber, 4, enjoys an ice cream date with his mom at MillerWilliam Gerber, 4, enjoys an ice cream date with his mom at Miller's Creamery in MIllersburg. The Millersburg shop serves lunch and dinner, featuring daily specials like its best-selling burgers and sloppy joes, homemade creamed chicken and other delights, according to Marilyn Wengerd.

She said the restaurant has a daily sandwich special Monday-Friday that comes with a small shake and bag of chips. During winter, guests are welcome to exchange a shake for a cup of soup.

"Our quarter-pound cheeseburgers are our No. 1 seller," Wengerd said. "Our sloppy joes are right up there, too. We specialize in comfort food. It's all homemade by Miller's commercial kitchen. They make our sloppy joe, coney sauce, our ice cream cakes and the ice cream cookie sandwiches."

Other homemade specialties at Miller's Creamery include a walking taco, classic Italian chicken sandwich, Philly cheese steak and a creamed chicken sandwich.

It also offers hot dogs, cheese dogs and coney dogs.

Wengerd admits she is surprised by the number of people who still come in for ice cream during the winter months.
