Christmas Candle Lighting Ceremony

During the afternoon, guests may enjoy a visit with Santa, hear strolling carolers, enjoy complimentary hot-mulled cider and cookies, roasted chestnuts and other holiday festivities. Specific details will be added closer to the event! At 6:00pm Roscoe Village begins celebrating the holiday season at the main stage with the Christmas Candlelighting Ceremony. Experience the Christmas tree lighting, a Christmas story, and performances by local choirs. Admission and parking is free! A Roscoe Christmas Tours will take place on the evenings of Dec 7th & 14th directly following the Christmas Candlelighting Ceremony. Participants will visit several of our living history exhibits as they learn about different ethnic holiday traditions once practiced by village residents. The histories of Christmas cards & Santa Claus will also be discussed. If you want to learn a little more about how Christmas came to be the major holiday celebration it has become today, then this is the tour for you! Tickets will be available closer to the event date.
