Description
Dr. Nigel Brush, a 1969 West Holmes High School graduate with a PhD in anthropology from UCLA, is an archaeologist and geologist who has conducted fieldwork in Holmes, Wayne, and Coshocton counties since 1982. His work includes excavations at mastodon sites, Late Prehistoric village sites in the Walhonding Valley, and numerous rock shelters in Killbuck Valley spanning 12,000 BC to AD 1700. He is Professor Emeritus of Geology at Ashland University and an affiliated scholar at the College of Wooster. The event is hosted by the County Line Historical Society of Wayne/Holmes, offers free admission and is open to the public.
